Description
People credited with this unit standard are able to: identify the scope of the Rule; identify driver and loader responsibilities relating to the transport of Dangerous Goods by road; identify documentation requirements relating to the transport of Dangerous Goods by road; identify the requirements for packages containing DGLQ, consumer commodities, small packages, and excepted packages; demonstrate knowledge of segregation requirements and segregate Dangerous Goods transported by road; demonstrate knowledge of placarding requirements and placard vehicles and freight containers containing Dangerous Goods transported by road; and identify driver actions and considerations in the event of an incident or emergency.
*Note: no lunch is provided during training sessions
Prerequisites
- Acceptance of all terms and conditions presented in enrolment process.
- Clothing should not be too loose or baggy such that it could be snagged or become entangled in machinery.
- Wear steel capped work boots if you have them or fully enclosed flat shoes suitable for operating heavy machinery.
- Long hair must be tied back.
- Specific Dangerous Goods (D) endorsement requirements
- Must have NZ Drivers License Full Class 1.
- For renewal your D Endorsement must not have expired more than 12 months ago.
