Dangerous Goods (D) Endorsement Issue or Renewal. If you're a driver transporting dangerous goods, you may need a current D endorsement on your driver licence.

Description

People credited with this unit standard are able to: identify the scope of the Rule; identify driver and loader responsibilities relating to the transport of Dangerous Goods by road; identify documentation requirements relating to the transport of Dangerous Goods by road; identify the requirements for packages containing DGLQ, consumer commodities, small packages, and excepted packages; demonstrate knowledge of segregation requirements and segregate Dangerous Goods transported by road; demonstrate knowledge of placarding requirements and placard vehicles and freight containers containing Dangerous Goods transported by road; and identify driver actions and considerations in the event of an incident or emergency.

Prerequisites

  1. Acceptance of all terms and conditions presented in enrolment process.
  2. Clothing should not be too loose or baggy such that it could be snagged or become entangled in machinery.
  3. Wear steel capped work boots if you have them or fully enclosed flat shoes suitable for operating heavy machinery.
  4. Long hair must be tied back.
  5. Specific Dangerous Goods (D) endorsement requirements
    1. Must have NZ Drivers License Full Class 1.
    2. For renewal your D Endorsement must not have expired more than 12 months ago.
