Description

People credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate knowledge of the safe operation of a forklift with attachments; prepare to operate a forklift with attachments; operate and shut down a forklift with attachments.

Prerequisites

  1. Acceptance of all terms and conditions presented in enrolment process
  2. Clothing should not be too loose or baggy such that it could be snagged or become entangled in machinery.
  3. Wear steel capped work boots if you have them or fully enclosed flat shoes suitable for operating heavy machinery.
  4. Long hair must be tied back.
  5. Current Forklift Operators Certificate

For operators who are required to operate a forklift on a road or anywhere deemed to be a public road. We offer an Forklift (F) Endorsement course which when added to a NZ Drivers License Class 1 allows the holder to drive on a road. Road includes: a place to which the public have access, whether as of right or not. Public roads include, but are not limited to: car parks, driveways, footpaths).

Wheels (W), Tracks (T) and Roller (R) Endorsements (WTR) This course is designed to cover all 3 endorsements: Wheels, Tracks & Roller Endorsements. During the enrollment you can elect to take one or two of the endorsements or all three depending on your need. It is recommended to take all three endorsements because of savings and time compared to undertaking these endorsements individually.
